C16a St. Patrick's Day

According to myth and legend, St. Patrick got rid of the snakes that were eating all the potatoes in Ireland. Then the people did not starve. He also used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity…three persons in one God. Many towns and cities have a parade on St. Patrick's Day to honor this man. A Leprechaun is a playful mischievous elf. Every rainbow is supposed to have a leprechaun and a pot of gold at the end of it. Green is the favorite color of the Irish people.
