B7 Jesus Came to Be Baptized, Matthew 3:13-17, First Sunday in Ordinary Time

John the Baptist was humble. He felt he was not worthy enough to baptize Jesus. Yet, according to scripture, it was his job to baptize Jesus. After Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove flew over his head. God's voice from the skies said, "You are my beloved Son. I'm very pleased with you." God feels the same way about you. When you do your job without fussing, he is very pleased. He loves you very much.
