Fasting means going without food for a day except for one meal and water. Fasting will give your body a chance to clean out the old.  Fasting makes you appreciate the food you may have taken for granted.  When you fast, you can give the food and⁄or the money you would have spent on food to the needy. It is very important not to overdue it. There is a difference between fasting and starving yourself to death. God loves you does not want you to starve yourself to death.
