I believe Jesus Christ is God because he did many things that people could never do. He changed the water into wine at the Marriage Feast at Cana. After his friend, Lazarus died, Jesus made him come back to life. He fed thousands of people with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread that a little boy was willing to share. After Jesus was baptized, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.” The greatest miracle was the love Jesus showed for us by dying on the cross so that our sins would be forgiven. It is because of his love that God the Father forgives us of our sins and welcomes us into heaven.

Being human, you may get so angry with someone in your family or a friend, that you can not forgive them. Being human, you may keep doing wrong things over and over again. God forgives you over and over again. Even when you’ve done something wrong seventy times seven times...490 times, God always says, “Yes. I forgive you.” That is truly a miracle.

Mary had faith that Jesus would help her at the Marriage Feast at Cana. She just asked him to help her. If you believe that God will provide your needs, and ask him to help you, he will help you, even if it takes a miracle. Being human, you may not want to share what you have with others because you are afraid there won’t be any left for you. God gives us added rewards when you help another person. When you give one hand to help others, three hands come back to help you. Those three hands might be God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; Man, Woman, and Child; Family, Friend, Stranger. Help could be gifts of Time, Talent, or Money. Help could be Prayer, Love, or Forgiveness. Gifts could be Faith, Hope, or Love; Skills, Knowledge, Understanding. Assistance could come in the form of Food, Clothing, Shelter, Heat, Job, Care, Humor, Laughter, and/or Healing.

When you take a handful of water from your jug and give it to someone in need, God magically puts 3 handsful of water back. He puts just what you need in your jug. When you share, you never run out. When you share with others, you will always have plenty for yourself.

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.

O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
