       Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.

Life is a simple game of hide and seek. You seek the good. You hide from the evil. You try to find the good things. You try to hide from the bad things. You hug the good in your life. You spit out the bitter things in life. What you need is a new pair of glasses. These glasses have an outline of something on the lens that will help you remember what is most important in your life. What symbol would be perfect for you? An outline of Jesus with his arms outstretched waiting for you to give him a hug; a cross pointing to heaven, or an angel. With these glasses we will always be reminded that one day Jesus, the Son of Man will come for us. It may be the last day of the world for everyone or it may be just your last day.

How do you build strength of body? Walking, running, lifting weights.

How do you build your mind? Reading, studying, learning more and more about everything you can every day.

How do you build your soul? Forgiving yourself and others, praying, reading the Bible, going to Church, helping others, obeying the Ten Commandments.

If God were to call you now, would you be ready? Are there some things you want to do before Jesus comes for you at the end of your time? Are there some things you want to do before you celebrate the birthday of Jesus in Bethlehem this year?

This is your time to prepare the way for God’s son. This is Advent…the time before Christmas to prepare your body and soul for the coming of Jesus. You may want to buy or make gifts for others as a way to get ready for the coming of Jesus. What gift are you going to give Jesus from you? Are you giving a coat to the homeless? Jesus is the homeless. Are you giving a toy to the child who has no toys? Jesus is that child. Are you forgiving the old man down the street who yelled at you when you walked in his flower garden to get your baseball? Jesus is that old man. God is in each of us….God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Look around you with your new glasses with the symbol of Jesus on them. When you look at the world through God’s eyes, you will see the clear path to heaven. You will know what to say and what to do to be ready for the coming of Jesus. You will have the strength to live as God wants you to live. You will rejoice and be happy when you see him because you have the strength of God’s goodness with you.

Then pray the “Our Father” asking God to give you the strength you need to always stay close to him so that you will always be ready when Jesus comes.

“Our Father, who art in Heaven,

Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day, our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
