Mark 1:7-11 Bible Gateway Contemporary English Version
And
a voice came from the heavens, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well
pleased."
It was a
glorious day when God, our heavenly father said about Jesus:
“This is my beloved son in whom I am well-pleased. Our heavenly father also says this about
you. “This is my beloved son or daughter
in whom I am well-pleased. He loves you
very much. He knows about the time you
cleared the table after supper for your mother.
He knows about how you tried to cheer up your little sister when she
lost her balance and fell off her bicycle.
He knows when you wrote a little “I love you” card and sent it to your
grandma. He knows how you never bother
things that belong to other people. He
remembers that you say, “Good morning, Lord” when you wake up. He understands that you are sometimes sad
because you sometimes think you are not good enough. You are always good enough for God. He loves you and forgives you when you get
off the path he has chosen for you. Be
happy because he will steer you in the right direction to get back on the path
to heaven. He put you on this earth to
carry out his will. All you have to do
is ask God to help you figure out which way to go. He will point out the way. Each day you live is a glorious day to
God. He says, “I am so glad that I
created you. You are a blessing. One day you will join me in paradise.”
Say the “Our
Father” and ask God to help you remember that you are a child of God and that
you are always good enough for him.
“Our
Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed
be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will
be done,
On earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us
this day, our daily bread.
And forgive
us our trespasses,
As we
forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead
us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
