“Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son
of God.”
(Today is the Fourth Week in Advent. If you have an
Advent Wreath, light four candles – three purple and one pink.
Wow...just one
more week until Christmas. Look in the mirror. Are you more Godly than you were
last year at this time? Look at that
twinkle in your eye. That spirit, that joy of living is a gift from God himself.
You have chances every day to make yourself a better person. Look around you
and see what you have done for God. Think of all the people who are better off
because they know you. Think of all the people who are better off because they
know Jesus Christ. Look around you after Christmas. God has a surprise for you.
Look for it. It might be a feeling of joy in your heart. Perhaps you will have
a better understanding of what Christmas is all about. After realizing how much
love God has for his people, you may appreciate and love your family more. Look
in the mirror right now. God wants you to know that you are his child and he
loves you very much. He knows you are not perfect, yet he loves you just as you
are. He forgives you for hurting yourself and others. He loves you just as you
are.
Say the “Our
Father” and ask God to help you keep his spirit alive within your heart and
soul all year long.
“Our
Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed
be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will
be done,
On earth as
it is in heaven.
Give us
this day, our daily bread.
And
forgive us our trespasses,
As we
forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
