Good News B37a
Feast of the Assumption of
Mary
“My Soul Proclaims the Greatness of the
Lord”
Luke 1:46-55 New American Bible
Luke 1:46-55 Bible Gateway New International Version
Mary’s words proclaimed the greatness of the Lord. They
reflected the goodness of the Lord in her soul. Make your words tell the
goodness of the Lord, too. Praise him for all the good things he has done for
you. Tell others how thankful you are for what he has done to keep you on the
path to heaven. You will notice that the more you are thankful and praise God,
the more good things he sends to bless you.
If
you are going through tough times right now, you might not remember the good
things. However, if you look deep into your soul, you will find an abundance of
good things that God has done for you.
What?
You say you still can’t think of anything. Look around you. Watch the news. Read
the newspapers. Being alive is a blessing. Talk with a friend. Having a friend
is a blessing. A friend can tell you how you are blessed. Think back in your
life to the time you were a child. A Mother and Father are blessings.
Grandparents are blessings.
If
you still cannot think of reasons to be thankful and to proclaim the greatness
of God, ask God to show you what your blessings are. He will point them out to
you.
You
have food to eat. You have a place to live. You have clothing to keep your
warm. You live in a safe neighborhood. All of these things are reasons to be
thankful. They are gifts from God.
Thank
God for creating you. You are a blessing. You were made to do something for
someone on earth that no one else can do. Discover what this is. Finding it is
a blessing. Show others by the way you live that God is great. That’s what Mary
did. You can do it, too.
Say
the “Our Father” and ask God to help you be a reflection of his goodness. Treat
yourself and others as you would treat God.
He is in you and others, too.
“Our
Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed
be Thy name.
Thy
kingdom come.
Thy
will be done,
On
earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread.
And
forgive us our trespasses,
As
we forgive those who trespass against us.
And
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
