Good News B16a
Matthew
1:16, 18-21, 24 Bible Gateway New International
Version
There are many times when
Angels appeared to people and told them not to be afraid. Joseph was afraid
because Mary was with child and it was not his child. In those times, women
were stoned to death if they had been with another man. In Mary’s case, she was
with child because of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, Joseph listened to the Angel
and took Mary into his home.
If you find someone being
treated badly for no good reason, do what you can to help them. God could send
Angels today to warn you when you are making a mistake. However, he might just
send another person or put an idea in your mind that clears them of the evil
charges.
If your brother is beating
up on your sister because he thinks she broke his favorite toy, and you know
your sister didn’t do it. Perhaps you did it by accident or you saw who did it.
Then you can tell your brother who really did it and ask him to stop hitting
your sister. God will look down and smile at you when you take up for someone
who has been wrongly accused of a crime.
When you choose to do a good
thing for someone, instead of hurting them God is very happy with you. He will put
another treasure in your box in heaven. Tell God you are thankful for your many
blessings. Tell him thank you for your brain and eyes and wisdom to make good
choices to help yourself and others grow closer to
him. God will welcome you into his heavenly home. You can sit in the rocking
chair with him for hours and hours on end, laughing and singing together.
Say the “Our
Father.” Ask God to give you straighten out unjust situations. Ask him to give
you wisdom, kindness, and the willingness to stand up for justice for yourself
and others.
“Our
Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed
be Thy name.
Thy
kingdom come.
Thy
will be done,
On
earth as it is in heaven.
Give
us this day, our daily bread.
And
forgive us our trespasses,
As
we forgive those who trespass against us.
And
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
