Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph

Matthew 2:13-15,19-23 New American Bible

Matthew 2:13-15.19-23 Bible Gateway New International Version

Rise Your Family and Flee to Egypt.

The magi went back home a different path so they wouldn’t meet up with Herod.  God sent an angel to tell Joseph to take Mary and the baby Jesus to Egypt.  After Herod died, God sent another angel to tell him to take his family to Nazareth.  Joseph did a lot of traveling with his family to keep them safe from harm.  He must have been frightened.  Sometimes we get frightened about different happenings in our lives.  It is during these times that God wants us to remember that He is there.  He will show us where to go to be safe.  He will show us a clear path to safety.  He will give us the strength and the skills we need.  We only need to ask Him and consent to do His will.  Please know that God loves you and will not forget you.  He sits on your shoulder wherever you go.  He likes to travel that way.  When you wake up each morning, be sure to say, “Hello, Lord.  Are you ready to travel with me today?”  When we are feeling down, it is God who helps us by switching places.  Instead of riding on our shoulders, He carries us on His shoulders.  When we ride on His shoulders, we see the world as a better place and are filled with hope and love.  Before you lay your head down on your pillow at night, make sure you tell God goodnight.  Thank Him for traveling with you.

Say the “Our Father” and ask God to give you wisdom so that when God tells you to leave a certain situation that would be death to your body or to your soul, you will hear his voice.

“Our Father, who art in Heaven,

Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day, our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  Amen.”
