Matthew 7:21-27 New American Bible

Matthew 7:21-27 Bible Gateway New International Version

“Do the Will of My Father in Heaven”

Jesus said to do as his father commanded. If you are doing that, you are building your house (your faith, your soul) on a good foundation. Your heavenly Father asks you to believe in his Son, Jesus Christ. He asks you to believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He asks you to believe that he sent his only Son, Jesus Christ down to earth to die on the cross for you so that your sins are forgiven today, tomorrow, and always. Otherwise, you would not get into heaven. I would not get into heaven. None of us today would get into heaven if Jesus had not died on the cross for us.

God the Father wants you to do good works in the name of Jesus. He wants you to cast out devils in the name of Jesus. He wants you to prophesy in his name. However, if you do all these things and you do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross to save you from your sins then this Gospel says you will not get through heaven’s gate.

When you get up each morning, thank Jesus for rescuing you. Thank him for giving you new life. Thank him for filling your soul with forgiveness. Forgiveness is the hope that keeps you going. God’s battery power of forgiveness keeps your spirit living with joy and peace. When you know that you are forgiven, it is easier to forgive others who have hurt you. When you recognize that you hurt someone badly, it blows you down. Your body, soul, and spirit falls down. You feel sad. You feel bad. You wish it had not happened at all. When God says, “I forgive you.” Then it makes it easier to handle. Then you are able to ask the person you hurt for forgiveness. You are able to say, “I’m sorry that I hurt you. Please forgive me. I have a plan that will prevent me from hurting you and God again.” When that person says, “I forgive you,” it makes you feel on top of the world.

Say the “Our Father” and thank God for giving you his Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross. Now your sins are forgiven every day of your life. Because of Jesus Christ, you can enter into the kingdom of heaven.

“Our Father, who art in Heaven,

Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day, our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.”
