John 3:16-18 New
American Bible
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
might not perish but might have eternal life.
The Holy Trinity is made up
of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God the Father sent his only begotten Son to
earth to die on the cross so that our sins would be forgiven. God the Father says your sins will be
forgiven, if you believe in his Son, Jesus Christ. If you believe in his Son, Jesus Christ, then
you will have life everlasting. How joyous that you will be able to see God the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit when you get to Heaven.
God made you in his
image. You are his child. God is inside your body and soul. When you disobey his commandments, you are
hurting God. When you help others, it
makes him very happy.
Jesus Christ, the Son of
God, said, “What you do unto others, you do unto me.” When you hurt another human being, you are
hurting Jesus. It makes him sad. When you are kind to others, you are being
kind to Jesus. It makes him very
happy. Jesus said that whatever you ask
for in his name, his father would give to you.
The Holy Spirit gives you
love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, friendliness, faithfulness, gentleness,
and self-control. These gifts help you
be a Godly person. The Holy Spirit also
gives you knowledge and wisdom to solve your problems in a way that shows your
love for God and his people. All of the gifts of the Holy Spirit give you
strength to overcome your bad habits, and follow the path to Heaven.
God asks you to believe in him and ask him
for help. When you pray, ask God to send
you the power to overcome your weaknesses.
When you talk with God in prayer, thank him for his many gifts. All of your actions should reflect the love
and mercy of your heavenly Father.
Because God loves and forgives you, you are able to love and forgive
yourself and others. The Holy
Trinity...God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit work together to help keep you
on the path leading to eternal life.
Say the “Our Father” and thank God for giving you knowledge and wisdom to stay on his path.
“Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed
be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy
will be done,
On
earth as it is in heaven.
Give
us this day, our daily bread.
And
forgive us our trespasses,
As
we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.”
