Good News A23
Sixth Sunday of Easter
“If you love me, you will obey what I command.”
According to Jesus, all you have to do to show you love him is to keep his commandments. He said he would send the Holy Spirit to let you know the truth. He said I am in my Father and you are in me and I am in you. Isn’t it wonderful to know that Jesus is in His Father, and you are in Jesus, and Jesus is in you? Because Jesus is in you, he is always available to answer questions for you. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all there for you! All you have to do is ask them for help. If you are having trouble understanding your math homework, ask Jesus to send the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. If you want to know what Jesus would do if he were in your shoes and had the same problems as you are having, ask him. Talk to him just like he was your best friend. If you need something, ask God the Father using the prayer that Jesus told us to pray, the “Our Father.” He will send you what you need and some extra to share. Obeying God’s commandments and following in Jesus’ footsteps will keep you on the clear path to heaven.
Say the “Our Father” and ask God to help you listen and hear him your name at the gates of heaven.
“Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.”
