“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”
God spoke from the clouds when Jesus
was baptized saying, “This is my son in whom I am well pleased. Listen to
him.” They had seen the face of Jesus
shining as the sun itself. They had seen
His clothing become as white as light.
Yet, Jesus told them not to tell anyone until after the Son of Man has
been raised from the dead. How difficult it would have been to keep this
secret!
Imagine if you had witnessed this transfiguration. What do you think you would have wanted to
do? Hurry home and tell everyone you saw
on the road. Ask people what they
thought it meant. Keep it on your mind
and try to figure out what Jesus meant by raised from the dead. The apostles probably discussed this among
themselves. Remembering God’s words,
they listened to Jesus and didn’t tell anyone until after Easter. You don’t have to keep it a secret
anymore. You can tell everyone that
Jesus is the Son of God. You can explain
that Jesus is a light for all of us. He
leads us along the path to the
Say the “Our
Father” and say, “All praise and honor
to you, heavenly Father and to your son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”

Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.”
