Matthew
5:17-37 Bible Gateway New International Version
“First go
and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”
God forgives you.
He expects you to forgive your brother. You may
argue with your brother. Your brother may do break something or do something that
really makes you angry. He may have made
a mistake. You may think he was being stupid.
God wants you to forgive your brother and ask him to forgive you. He wants you to be at peace with others
before you offer him a gift at the altar.
The gift Jesus wants you to give at the altar is forgiveness. When you
forgive your brother, your sister, and yourself, that is a wonderful gift that
God treasures All of God’s angels clap
their hands and shout “Hurray” when you forgive your brothers and sisters in
your family and all of God’s children through out the world. Each one of us
makes mistakes in actions and in words. When
you forgive, God’s love will surround you and heal your body, mind, and spirit. You will be blessed and full of God’s favor.
Say the “Our Father” and say, “All praise and honor to you, heavenly Father and to your son, our Lord
Jesus Christ. Amen.”
“Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy
kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in
heaven.
Give us this day, our daily
bread.
And forgive us our
trespasses,
As we forgive those who
trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.”
